The Laos Diplomatic Visa is associated with foreign diplomatic officials and other individuals traveling for official diplomatic purposes. It is separate from the ordinary tourist eVisa available through the Lao online application system. The official Lao eVisa platform currently states that its online facility is for Tourist Visa (T-B3) only and is intended for eligible travelers using ordinary passports. Diplomatic travelers may therefore need to follow separate procedures established for diplomatic, official, or service travel documents. Requirements can depend on the traveler’s status, assignment, nationality, and purpose of travel. Individuals traveling on official diplomatic business should coordinate with their embassy, foreign ministry, or the appropriate Lao diplomatic authority to confirm the required documentation and visa procedure before traveling to Laos.
